Primary Engineering CompetitionWritten by Abbie Davies
On Wednesday this week four children from Chestnut class attended the Primary Engineering Celebration Event at the BAWA club in Filton.
The children entered two vehicles in the Apprentice Level 1 category. We were thrilled when we found out that our vehicles won both 1st and 2nd prizes in the category. A big well done to Isabelle, Zsofia, Junior and Maisha.
Pancakes!Written by Abbie Davies
This term we have been learning all about the book 'Mama Panya's Pancakes'. This book is set in a Kenyan village. Last week we had a go at making our own pancakes on the school field. It was so much fun and they tasted yummy!

Welcome to our class blog.
Half term project
Over half term we were given a project. We had to make a poster, model or draw a picture of an African animal. Here are some that we have done.
We are looking forward to making pancakes next week. My Wynne is going to build a fire and we are going to cook the pancakes on the fire. We have been writing instructions on how to cook pancakes so we know exactly what to do (Imaan and Leon)
Pets at Home
On Thursday afternoon we went to Pets at Home. We were feeling very excited! It was a long walk but we talked the whole time about what we thought we were going to see. It was just as exciting as we thought it would be. We got to hold beautiful, fluffy rabbits and feed tropical fish.
'I enjoyed holding the rabbit. It was very soft' (Ayan)
'There were so many fish and they were all different colours' (Eros)
Welcome to term 6.
We are looking forward to learning lots of things about Africa with the children. We are hoping to go on lots of local trips. We will keep you updated on developments on the blog.
In term 5 we went to Slimbridge. We found lots of different birds that are found all around the world. Our favourite parts of the day were looking at the flamingos and pond dipping. (Maryama and Dani)
Natural History Museum
Our first trip in Term 3 is to the Natural History Museum in London.
We had a great time today finding out about dinosaurs. Here are some of the photos from the day.
What part of the dinosaur is behind the children?
Do you remember what these were?
Which dinosaur is this?
Can you remember how many teeth this dinosaur had?
