Welcome to Term 6, how quickly this year has flown by!
Our final topic is Australia and our enquiry question is 'What is the same and what is different in our world?' In geography we will be comparing Australia with the UK and learning about Australia's human and physical features. Linked to pur topic our class story will be 'Rainbow Bird' by Eric Maddern and Adrienne Kennaway, we will be reading a range of Aboriginal folk tales and having a go at writing out own. In art we will be studying aboriginal art forms and having a go at making our own! We are also excited to visit Slimbridge Wetlands centre as part of our topic work. Click here for the term's topic web.
This is a very busy term for Elm class, as well as our trip we will be painting a Feathers Macgraw statue, practising for the summer concert, taking part in international day and experiencing life in year 3 on shuffle up day.
Our key authors this term are still Rhonda and David Armitage. They wrote many stories including 'The Lighthouse Keepers Lunch.' If you have any of their books at home, it would be great if you could share them with the class.
In Maths we will be developing our understanding and recapping all of the skills we have learnt this year. Starting with addition and subtraction.
Please come and speak to me if you have any questions.
