Welcome back to term 3 in year 4
We have begun the term with a bang without class assembly where the children were absolutely brilliant! I hope you were all as proud of them as I was, if you couldn’t be there then just know, it was fab.
This term is another busy one, especially being only 6 weeks. Luckily, we have the brilliant Mr Perry with us for the next couple of terms who is going to be supporting and teaching lessons. He’s already made a very positive impact on the children so we are very pleased to have him in.
In maths we are finishing of our work on multiplication and division, Hazels have come SO far with their time tables but just because we aren’t going to be doing it in lesson doesn’t mean you need to stop practising at home – keep it up!
In English we have begun reading a fab book called Rooftoppers by Katherine Rundell which is full of exciting language and adventures. This will be the basis of our English and Reading lessons.
Our topic is all about France and England, which is where the book is set, and we will be comparing and contrasting the two places and finding out more about Il Francese. Click here to see our topic web.
In P.E. we are very lucky to have some Badminton teachers coming in to teach us badminton on Mondays, as well as the lovely Aiden who is teaching ukulele!
We are also taking part in an African singing concert in March called Zimbe, at The Orchard School. There will be an evening performance which you are all invited to and I’m sure will be brilliant – so we are beginning to practise for that now – be prepared for some beautiful African singing at home!
As always, please continue to read as much as possible at home and practise those times tables (they should all know their target table!) and spellings.
Once again, thank you for your continued support and we hope you are looking forward to another successful term as much as we are.
Miss Bonner, Mr Perry and Miss Thomas
