Welcome back to term 2 in Hazel Class.
We’ll be continuing our topic on Tudors but looking in more detail at Bristol. This will be the focus for our trip to the Red Lodge Museum and around historic Bristol (18th November).
Our class text will be My Friend Walter by Michael Morpurgo, about the ghost of Sir Walter Raleigh and his modern day relative, Bess. They get up to a lot of fun adventures and the children have really enjoyed the book in the past! We’ll be using this and our trip as stimuli for writing adverts for the Red Lodge and biographies of well-known people, learning how to use adverbials and conjunctions to structure our writing.
In science, we’ll be looking at changes in state and will carry out some investigations to explore the changes between solids, liquids and gases.
