Year 6 And The Zoo by YousufWritten by Class room blogging
On Thursday 5th of January year 6 went to Bristol Zoo.Firstly,we were seperated into groups so no-one got lost.Once we arrived at the Zoo,some of the groups joined together and split up with the others. Before looking at all the animals,we headed to the Lions who were very loud!
After we faced the roars of the lions,we mad out way to the twilight Zone which was very dark because nocturnal animals lived there.luckily the Animal's glass boxes were glowing so we could see and move around the place.
A while later,we had lunch and birds had arrived to eat some crums. After lunch,we went back into are groups and headed to the workshop where we were talking about the four diffrent parts of a rain forest and tried to guess which animals are the strongest but before that we felt animals.
Once we left,we split back into our groups and explore more of the zoo. Before we left,we went back to the Lions to check if everyone was safe. Finally, we went back to the bus.

Year six camp trip
On 31st of October, year six student took a coach to Dean Field studies centre. When we arrived we were greeted by Domonique and we were brought to the lounge. Soon after, we were told the safety rules and then unpacked our bags. After we unpacked, we were bought to the dining hall and we had some lunch. For lunch we had some rolls filled with ham, cheese, egg and tuna. Also, we had some crisps with a chocolate bar and some fruit. Next we were sent back to the lounge to be told what activities we would be doing for the day. We got split into groups of about 10 people and we switched activities for each day. We were in different groups. Simran was doing the zip wire, the climbing wall and the leap of faith. Maya was doing canoeing. Well at canoeing we had to stand up, on our seats and jump and chant like Indians, (because we were learning about how Indians lived in olden days). We also had to stick our faces in the water and say thank you to the alligator snapping turtles. At the very end we did a challenge called titanic which was where Domonique filled the canoe with water, and we sunk the boat.
On day two we woke up bright and early. I did tunnelling. Well out tunnelling Ms Rosser closed the doors and made us come out in alphabetical order. After we had lunch. We went out orienteering. Well out orienteering I and Simran got the very cool privilege to see wild boars. Mr Grimwood and Miss Rosser had us stay away from the wild boars.

On Tuesday the 11th of October, phase 3 celebrated John Muir day where we did several different outdoor activities on the field! Also we had to dress up as a famous explorer. If you didn’t know John Muir is a famous Scottish explorer who travelled to America at 11 he was also a inventor.
Ivy and Simran's John Muir dayWritten by Class room blogging
On Tuesday the 11th October 2016, we had John Muir day we did a John Muir word search
After this, we got simbles from a map and we had to put the words and pictures together.
After break we made tents in groups of 4 people the first time it was a practice, the second time was for real.
The rules were:
-you had to make the tent and then put it away again
-who ever put the tent up first got 10 house points
-who ever put the tent down and packed away first would also get 10 house points
Simran-We were second putting up the tent up and also putting it down again (in the second go) so we (everyone in my group) got 10 hp.
Ivy-We came second in the practice so we all got 2 hp .Then we came first in putting up the tent and putting it back down again so we all got 20 hp.
In the orchard, we got into groups of John and Muir.
The first group [John] got to do the first activity, which was making bread on a stick.
How to make the bread;
-First you would get a handful of flour and put it in your bowl,
-Next you would put in a squirt of water into the bowl,
-After this you use two fingers to stir the mixture together,
-Once it doesn’t feel to gooey pick it up and squeeze it twice and then squish it between your two hands,
-Now you need to roll it out into a sausage shape,
-Get your stick and put the top of your dough on the top of the stick and swirl it around,
-Additionally you heat the dough on top of the fire until it goes hard enough for you to eat it and it will go a slightly golden brown colour,
-This is now ready to eat with anything of your choice
Whilst group 1 was making bread, group 2 was doing things to help the orchard such as,
-Drawing pictures with charcoal,
-Taking weeds out of the patches,
-Making a whole for the tree to be planted in and
-Were the pumpkin patch was, we had to take all the weeds out with a mini fork and put them in a tray.
Once everyone had a go at everything, we all went back inside and did a comprehension task about John Muir.
After we had finished the comprehension task, we went outside to then enjoy doing an orienteering task also about John Muir.
Since we had all finished it we got given a sticky piece of paper to put nature on.
