Welcome to Term 2!
I hope you had a lovely break and are looking forward to all of the fun learning we have planned for this term.Click here to view our topic web for Term 2.
Our enquiry this term is ''Could the Great Fire of London been prevented?." We will be finding out about The Great Fire of London. Throughout the topic the children will be travelling back to the time the fire happened and understanding the circumstances surrounding the fire. They will be finding out what life was like back then and how cities have changed because of the fire.
Our key author this term is Roger Hargreaves. He wrote many stories including The Mr Men collection. If you have any of their books at home, it would be great if you could share them with the class.
During English this term we will be focussing on the story ‘Toby and the Great Fire of London.’ We will use the story and role play to inspire our writing and produce diary entires in role as different characters from the story. We will also write in a number of other genres inspired by the story.
In Maths we will be continuing to focus on number skills. The children will be exploring their knowledge of addition and subtraction and the inverse relationship. We will also be moving on to looking at multiplication and division and 2d and 3d shapes.
Keep up the great work!
