House system

House system

Every child and adult at Glenfrome belongs to a House. This promotes team spirit, and enables children to work towards a shared goal.

Our Houses are named after Olympic athletes who inspire us to ‘go for gold’ and achieve our very best in life.

House Captains

Each House has two House Captains. These are very important roles and we must vote for the children who we want to represent us. Anyone who wants to run for Captain must give a speech to their House

House Points

We can earn House Points throughout the school day for being brilliant – either in our work, our behaviour, our attitudes to learning or our manners. These House Points are added up weekly and we celebrate the weekly winning House in our Friday assembly. The House who wins the most points by the end of term will earn a prize.

Every year we hold a House Day where we compete in different activities and challenges to earn points for our House. These range from general knowledge quizzes to basketball tournaments to ‘Glenfrome has Talent’ shows! At sports day in the summer we also earn additional points for our House. The House with the most points at the end of the year will raise the House trophy. Which House will earn the most House Points this year?
