The Eco-Schools programme improves the environment, saves money and brings international recognition. We are proud to have achieved the highest Eco-Schools status - we are a green flag school!
Children are the driving force behind our achievement – they lead the eco-committee and have helped to carry out an audit to assess the environmental performance of our school. Through consultation with the rest of the school and the wider community pupils decided which environmental themes they wanted to address and how they were going to do it.
Eco-Schools is a great way of introducing environmental topics to our children, whilst developing a much more creative learning environment for everyone.
Eco-Schools provides real in-school issues, and also encourages scientific review and data analysis. Undertaking Eco-Schools has enabled pupils to understand how different issues are linked together, i.e. the connections between transport and pollution or management of the school grounds and increased biodiversity.
