Maria Hodson

I joined the governing body as an associate member in 2024 and became a parent governor in 2025. My son is currently in Year 2 at Glenfrome, having started in reception. I have seen first-hand the joyful environment that Glenfrome provides and I feel proud to support the school in its ongoing efforts to be a warm, engaging school with top-quality educational provision. I worked in the magazine industry for 20 years prior to undertaking a PGCE to become a secondary-school English teacher, which I am currently completing. I have a passion for education and believe that every child should have access to, and benefit from, a supportive and engaging learning environment. I am particularly interested in the transition between primary and secondary education, and in the teaching of reading, writing and oracy. In my (scant) spare time, I enjoy adventuring outdoors and spending time with friends and family.
